The Waterfront

The Waterfront Condos Area of Toronto, or commonly known as Toronto Harbourfront, has a deep imbedded history in the city. What was once known as an industrial shipping yard and fairy docks for the city, is now an entertainment central and home to many Waterfront Condos.

The Vibe

Active, lively, fun, entertaining, cultural. A neighbourhood where people are always walking around, enjoying the sights and activities. There is always something to do, an event to see, or a place to kick back and enjoy the sun!

Living In Waterfront Condos

It is truly one of the most unique and vibrant neighbourhoods to call home, and for many reasons. There is always something happening, and something to do and enjoy! People are always seen outdoors and simply enjoying life in the area all year round.

It's easy to see what attracts people to live along the lake front. The Waterfront Condos that line Queens Quay have the most spectacular views. Years of developing condos along the south end of Toronto, have been strategically planned to optimize the wonderful sparkling waters. There are more than 40 buildings, stretching along the city's most southern street, from Bathurst to Cherry Street.

The south facing Waterfront Condos are really something special. Prefect clear water views as far as the eyes can see. South exposure fills the condos with sunlight throughout the day, and the sunsets are breath taking. South facing units get to take in views of the islands, the active area below and in many units amazing city views of the west and or financial district. Views aside, the neighbourhood offers so much more! The Waterfront Condos neighbourhood is where entertainment, activity and culture come together to create a truly unique lifestyle and community.

The area is home to many outdoor parks, boardwalks, restaurants, beaches, hotels and endless activities. During the summer season, there is never a dull moment. Many people from all areas of the GTA will come to the Waterfront for the day to enjoy all it has to offer. There are endless activities to enjoy. Basking in the sun in the many parks and beaches including HTO Park, Canada Square, Harbour Square Park, Sugar Beach and Cherry Beach. Biking or walking along the Waterfront Condos Boardwalk, or Queens Quay. Cultural festivals make Harbourfront home during the summer months. Schedules and locations can be found at the Harbourfront official website http://www.harbourfrontcentre.com/.

The best part of the area is the huge verity of fine dining, local pub fair, and waterfront restaurants are easy to enjoy. If you want to enjoy the water view while dining, the Amsterdam BrewHouse, The Slip, The Goodman Pub, Pearl harbour Chinese, and Toula just to name a few. Pro Tip: BrewHouse is always busy, prepare for long waits to get a water side table.

The Waterfront is also home to the Harbourfront Centre stage, where many festivals and concerts take place. Local and celebrity artists perform at the stage, which completely livens the atmosphere in the area. Free concerts for everyone to enjoy, by sitting in the theater, walking by, or being at one of the local eatery spots. The area wouldn’t be a Harbour without the boats, and there is no disappointment here! The Waterfront Condos area is known for the exciting summer season, and boat tours are the best way to take in the impressive Toronto City Skyline. Site seeing tours, dinner cruises, party boats day and night or renting your own boat. The Harbourfront holds true to its name, and enjoying the open waters is easy.

Summertime is when the area really comes to life. But during the winter seasons, the Waterfront Condos area doesn’t slow down. Skating at Natrel Rink is one of the most popular spots in the GTA. And now the Bentway rink (under the Gardiner) is the newest hot spot for winter skating, located steps away from Queens Quay and the Waterfront Condos. Indoor and outdoor cultural and art events and activities go all year round!

Getting Around Waterfront Condos

Living in Waterfront Condos makes getting around the city simple, located in the central area of the city. Easily one of the most accessible neighbourhoods in all of Toronto. With everything needed so close by, walking to anything in the area is easy and enjoyable. Getting around the city is just as easy, with a newly designed TTC street car line stretching along Queens Quay, uninterrupted by car traffic. Connecting Bathurst Street to Yonge, to Union Station. Also, the TTC line 509 Queens Quay is used by the new street cars. Union Station is walkable from the central Waterfront Condos area, connecting to all the Toronto neighbourhoods. Union Station is the central transit hub for Toronto, providing access to all the GTA cities and beyond. Home to the TTC, Go Train, Via Rail and Union Pearson Express. Driving around the neighbouhood is surprisingly easy! Queens Quay intersects with all the major Toronto streets from the west side, including Bathurst and Spadina, York, Bay, Yonge, Jarvis, and all the way east to Parliament. Highway access for Gardiner West at York Street, East Gardiner and North DVP at Bay Street. Commuters also make use of Lake Shore Blvd for access to west Toronto or East end of the city. Unique to The Waterfront Condos neighbourhood, the Billy Bidhop airport is within walking distance. Porter Airlines provides convenient, timely and cost effective travel between many major Canadian and American cities; New York, Montreal, Florida, Thunderbay and so many more. One of the many highlights for business people living in The Waterfront, is easy access to the Toronto financial district, and easy connection to American and Canadian business and financial cities.

Toronto Islands

The excitement of living in Waterfront Condos doesn’t stop at the water's edge. The activities go well beyond into the famous Toronto Islands. A huge park and "cottage feel" area with amazing views of the city. The island is one of Toronto's hot stops for summer enjoyment, for tourists and locals. Bike rides, walks and jogs along the water line paths are common. The island is easy to access, from the fairy docs. Fairies travel back and forth all day in the summer to provide access. The Toronto Island is home to many local attractions including several large beaches (better than the ones found on the main land), Centreville Theme Park, Yacht Clubs, Sailing Clubs, Picnic Parks, and Open Grass Area (great for city escape) and of course, more restaurants and bars to enjoy! *Fun fact: there are housing communities on the Toronto Island, accessible only by walking paths, and surrounded by lush greenery.
